Hello, hello, hello! ✨ I’m Catherine “Cat” Everson, a professional makeup artist born, raised, and located in Toronto, Ontario.
My love for the Arts and beauty came naturally. As a child, I loved drawing and painting, as well as getting lost in movies and TV shows. I found makeup at the age of twelve, during the golden era of YouTube beauty influencers. Throughout my childhood, (and even now in adulthood), all of these different art mediums helped me find myself, my voice, and my purpose.
My childhood full of the Arts led me to my highschool years, where I attended Wexford Collegiate School for the Arts for their Visual Arts and Media program. There, I studied multiple art forms and techniques, such as painting, filmmaking, photography & photo editing, graphic design, illustration, and more. I achieved my OSSD with honours in 2021.
Following my highschool graduation, I took a few gap years to work in retail and save up for college.
I graduated from CMU College of Makeup Art & Design for their Complete Makeup Artist program in May 2025, wherein I studied Film, Television, & Special Effects Makeup, Fashion Photographic Makeup, Prosthetic Makeup, Photographic & Studio Hairstyling, Theatre Makeup, and Creature Design.
Through CMU, I had the opportunity to demo a bridal look at Canada’s Bridal Show in January 2025. In September 2025, I spent three days at TIFF Toronto International Film Festival demoing three different film/tv & SFX makeup looks.
Since graduating, I’ve been pursuing a career in film and television as a makeup artist. I’ve had the fortune of working on numerous student and non-union short films, music videos, commercials, and proof-of-concepts, with more projects underway. Additionally, I’ve worked on a few photographic shoots, and dabbled in bridal.
As much as I love the artistry, the best part of my job is creating safe environments where everyone can be themselves and feel comfortable in their skin.
Besides makeup, my simple pleasures are my cat Pepper, movies, tattoos, popcorn, my loved ones, and Beyoncé.
